The University of Kansas is known for basketball for a good reason: Dr. James Naismith, the sport’s creator, was KU’s first coach. So when a child from just down the road from KU showed up to the KU vs. Kentucky game during the 2016 season dressed as a mini version of Dr. Naismith, he was a huge hit.
When planning our annual school year kick off, Traditions Night, we were tasked with developing a clever way to introduce the Chancellor. We opted to bring back Little Dr. Naismith. Once again, he was a big hit with all of the students.
I worked closely with our video department to develop the concept, write the script, provide guidance and direction throughout its production, and ensure a successful Traditions Night. True to form, Little Dr. Naismith was a champ.
